Lets imagine a multinational organizations consisting multiple companies. Each company issue separate sets of financial report at month end. From SAP's perspective each company within this organization is a client.
SAP allow rolling up of the data.
Although each end user is logging in as one of the client when entering data, at the end of the day you can issue the reports and inquiries at organization (consisting of multiple clients) level as well.

You can run reports at both levels, clients and parent organization.
