When you implement a business software like SAP or Oracle E-Business Suite, you use an implementation process.

Implementation process is simply a list of steps (along with documentation templates) that needs to be performed in order to successfully configure the software.

Each software vendor offers their own methodology.

Consulting companies might create their own methodology as well.

SAP offers its own methodology called ASAP methodology.

Methodology comes into the picture when you are ready to implement a particular software for your company.

Developing a roadmap is above any methodology.

Roadmap deals with higher level of abstraction.

Roadmap is about designing business processes so that company can achieve its vision.

Methodology is about configuring the software in such way that business processes could be handled by the functionality of the software (e.g. entering invoices).
